Under the “SARHAD KO PRANAM” program from 19-23 November 8000 plus youth from all the states walked proudly over the 15, 106.7 Kms. of the land border of the Country visiting 469 Border Out Posts (BOPs).

For the first time in the history of the Country youth in such large numbers saw for themselves the difficulties of jawans and Local Population. The youth expressed their gratitude to them for their work in defending our borders. They also conveyed solidaritywith them.
This unique program was organized by Forum for Integrated National Security (FINS) established in the year 2003. Senior retired Defense Officers, lAS & IPS Officers, retired Judges of High Courts, Educationalists, Lawyers, Media Persons got together and formed FINS. The aim being spreading awareness about National Security.
Base Camps in Gujarat were in Bhuj, Radhanpur, Tharad and Samakhiali. 382 youth from different states of India reached the Base Camps on 19th evening and were organized in 24 teams. On 20 evening they reached respective location on the borders. They spent 20th and 2ft nights in tents / chowkis at the Border. Theyvisited BorderOut Posts (BOPs) and villages interacting with theiawans & Locals.They didial Abhishek with the water they had carried from their home-towns. They tied Raksha Sutra toiawans, Locals & Prominent Landmarks. Human Chain (Maanav-Shrunkla) was formed on the border and homage was paid to martyrs in respective areas. They collected Sacred Soil (Pavitra Mitti) from the borders. It will be carried to their states. The same will be applied as Tilak to citizens and spread in the village farms & crossroads.
Locals from the border area expressed their happiness that for the first time countrymen have tried to understand their difficulties & appreciated their hard work. This gesture increased their enthusiasm.
All the youth were very happy that they got an opportunity to have first hand knowledge of conditions at the borders. They resolved that so far we have lost 1,87,000 Sq. Kms. of soil but now we resolve that we will not let go even an inch.
