Relief and Rescue Operations by Sewabharati volunteers in Idukki District



Monsoon Floods in Kerala - Sewabharati on ground with rescue and relief.
Kottayam(Kerala): sewabharati workers are on ground with full fledged relief and rescue operations, as kerala is struggling with Monsoon floods. Residents of Ambrose colony near kottayam were rescued by timely intervention of Sewabharati volunteers, risking their own life. The volunteers also rescued a boy, who was taken away by a rushing flood water stream.

The boy Master Alan (10 yrs) fell in to the stream near 'thekkum palam' and his friend started shouting. This alarmed sewabharati workers on ground and they rushed to the water stream risking own lives, and saved the boy successfully. The boy Alan, was later admitted to kottayam Medical college and is safe.

Sewabharati workers were seen helping the residents to move to safer places, and they also distributed food packets and other necessary items. A team of 30 volunteers are still camping in Mallussery area. R. Rajeev (RSS district karyavah) , P. D. Babu (Mandal Sewa pramukh), Pratheesh Mallussery etc are leading the rescue and relief operations.
